4 mile to work, 4.8 mile/1209ft off road home, knee still tight, but a lot better than it was. Cold this morning, early doors, warm and sunny at 2pm:)
Had a cracking weekend away in the Dales and three top runs :D :
1. From Cracoe up to the war memorial on the fell, out 'n' back, 40mins
2. Circular from Burnsall - south along the Wharfe then up to Simon's Seat, down to the river again then up onto Barden Moors past the two reservoirs before coming off the top down to Burnsall. 2 1/2 hours.
3. Up Burnsall fell from the village then back the same way (I didn't fancy tussling with all that heather & rock coming down the race route). 23mins and had the fell to myself.
Itching to get back there again now....;)
Well I have this week off but can't flaming well run due to my injured calf. I still went for a great little walk around Stainforth, up to Catrigg Force on the Pennine Bridleway, back following and criss-crossing the beck (no path) to Stainforth and then down to probably the best summer swimming hole in the Dales on the Ribble nearby. I didn't bother with a cliff jump today though :).
Hardly any miles and very little in the way of climb either but still a lovely day for a wander.
Nice steady 5 on local back roads, hill and sunny. ITS LIGHT. :D
Been a busy weekend, as well as a long run on Saturday so not feeling fast but happy.
Congrats Freddie, its a decent run and you were flying at half way so just have faith in the miles you've banked and allow your self to ease off now. Remember its only road, the real stuff comes later on the fells.
Also well done Andi on a cracking run in Edinburgh.
Jason
A few of us had been on a ride round Ingleton & Ribblehead last July and came back past Stainforth and all ended up in the foss with a couple of us repeatedly jumping in off the rocks. It was very warm and pretty busy at the camp site next door and there were even topless female sunbathers (at Stainforth!!!!!!! (and female!!!!!!!!!!!!))
Yeah right.... the real Stainforth Force in the summer:

I have to say if that was really Stainforth Force she would have bigger.................
goose bumps :D.
Well I just risked a 3 mile road run and, although it wasn't exactly a run, it was definitely a jog and my left calf held up okay .
4m to work on singlespeed, 8m home, wind, rain, sunny, cold, wish this weather would make up its mind:confused:
Quick 20 mins to stretch nicely and keep limbered up! ;)
Didn't enjoy the wind 'n' rain after the super weather of the last couple o' days though. :(
Bikecommute for first time in ages - 18 mins in (mostly downhill & wind behind) then 30 mins home - yes you've guessed mostly uphill into the strong wind.
...oh and 43 mins run through Farnley Park across to Post Hill & back via Troydale Lane/Green Lane & field paths.
An hour on the roads with the little one in his running buggy. Fast aslep all the way round.
4 mies hilly road and trail this morning in horrible wind and rain. Caught the worst of the day. Ah the joys of having a dog!
Then 8 this evening including a hard 3, actually a 3mile tt ran once a month (through summer) with one big hill. Pleased with already improving on last year by 11 seconds even though I am quite heavy and tired. Dry but still windy.
Met Office Jason
Looking forward to a good 16 miler, reccying the 3p's with Hugh Jarse.
A few days off work midweek and the first midweek run (daytime) of the year.:)
Sat ere eating mi porridge enjoying the feeling of anticipation of a good day out in the hills.:D
Just Five miles easy yesterday
Steady 40mins on the roads.
only 4.2 miles steady today, feel very tired after Wilmslow Half on Sunday and will have to be careful now before London
4m to work on singlespeed, Liver Hill race last night. Didn't get to bed till midnight then up at 4.30, that could be the reason i'm pooped. 4m home into headwind, couldn't resist chasing and passing a mountain biker uphill, more like jelly than merry legs now:eek:
Had a great day out with steampig.Set off from Selside ;tourist route round Whernside.Up Inglebugger.(tough climb up steps)Came down off simon Fell and turned left back to Selside.Great! If the sun don't shine in the next 3 weeks the folk on the 3P attire thread can forget road shoes!
Top butties Steampig!
:( my legs woujdn't work properly today
Tried a gentle 3 miles on TPT with daughter cycling at side. Back still sore and find it hard to bend down and/or twist but it definitely feels the better for it.
only a gentle 3 miles for me too today plus the bike commute -glad wind has died down but I hear more snow is forecast for later in weekend:eek:
Catch up post: to celebrate British summertime, a tough 10 miler up onto the moors north of Ilkley after work on monday, and then a lung-busting hilly 10 mile TT-type effort on the bike tonight. Loving the light evenings!
First run of the week, but 3 out of 3 to work on the bike. Dry - yippee!..and no wind and double figures at last on the celcius chart Monday, but wind yesterday and today.
Did regular 4.75 course at lunchtime, but decided with it being April it was time for speedwork! This time last year had done about 12 track sessions.
So 4.75 in 34 mins, with 8 x 50 fast (approx 90 secs recov)? Not timed recoveries yet, but that'll come soon. Felt OK.
Easy 4m recover run yesterday morning, then 7 mile with the club in the Kilpatricks above Clydebank. Lovely evening and hills from now on, hurrah!
Jason
Circular route (with an extra hill thrown in) from Holme village. Just under 12 miles and 2200ft of climb in total. Tired now. :(
I can see it now, 'oooh av you heard about about so and so, oooh she didn't did she? Yeah and with him, and you never guess what......................and don't tell anyone i told you this, but...............'and so on, and so forth:rolleyes:
4m to work on singlespeed, 8m home including mile uphill through woods with bike on shoulder. 6 hours to work tomorrow then off camping in dales and its forecast snow, am i bovered:D
10.2 road miles with 1400ft in 1.20 hours. Much further than I planned, felt very steady but running down hill was a struggle, my back really didn't like that but coped with every thing else.
Will try some tentative off road on Saturday.
5 and a bit miles up in the hills - my calf didn't like going up hill much but was pretty good on the straight and the downwards bits.
A lovely off road but flat 4.5 miles around Entwistle Reservoir.
It was great to get off the roads, knee felt okay on what downhills I did.
Going to roll the IT Band on a frozen 2 litre bottle of water now.
As Michael Jackson used to say OWWWW
Only bike commute today.
Tram to work this morning and ran home through Prestwich Clough/Outwood. Great stuff this BST. Birdsong for company.
9 miles 71 mins.:)
Out for a 40 minute recovery, managed 1 x 500ft climb and it all felt much better after that. Turkey salad roll + cup o' tea now and all is right with the world! :)
A good paced 42 mins today - would've been longer but off out shortly and need bite to eat first!!
