I understand Brett has them for posting on the FRA website.
If anyone sends me an email I will forward them as an Excel file.
The full results appear in the Spring 2010 Fellrunner.

Re: Lakeland Classics Trophy 2
For Clarity:
"Best Improver" award is for the biggest improvement in points since the previous year.
Edwin Sherstone of top felling club Southport but who is a very nice chap who introduced himself as I passed him on the Wasdale at the top of Scafell Pike, scored 15% more points in 2009 than he did in 2008. So he gets the mug.
Gavin Patterson (CFR) scored 11% more, Hazel Robinson 10% more, etc.
We calculate the % change for every runner who completed in 2008 and 2009 including those who show a deterioration, for 2009 up to -20%.
However we do not give a mug for deteriorating performance.

Re: Lakeland Classics Trophy 2
2010 Dates
I am dismayed by the completely unnecessary and Gadarene behaviour to early race entries but I am receiving enquiries about the 2010 dates from people wishing to book holidays etc.
So, just for information, the dates for the 2010 races can be found from the link on Home page/Championships/8th (sic) LCT -with thanks to Margaret & Brett. The other out of date info. shown here will be excised shortly and all info. about the LCT will eventually be contained on the dedicated LCT site.

Re: Lakeland Classics Trophy 2
If I get a gaderine will it pass the kit check if it has taped seams?
Actually I've just looked it up - 'Moving rapidly, without control, headlong...' sounds like some of my races (except for the moving rapidly bit)

Now Now. You know I always use le mot juste.
Early warnng: my LCT article for The Fellrunner describes something as serendipitous. No other word will do.

Re: Lakeland Classics Trophy 2
I wonder what has brought about this increased level of entry to the longer races? The first time I entered Ennerdale it was cancelled due to lack of entries - remember Joss trying hard to persuade more people to enter Ennerdale at the Duddon start that year? Wait a minute, I've just remembered who to blame..... All joking aside Graham and Brian we have a lot to thank you for, some of these races might have gone by the wayside if not for your efforts, although I suppose Dockray Helvellyn did just that and I regret never having raced it although I have run the route a few times. (and thanks to the organisers who were able to keep them going in the face of declining numbers) - apart from the Old County Tops a few times I had never done anything much longer than Borrowdale before and the LC series was what gave me the shove in the direction of doing the properly long races - we can hardly complain now if they are sometimes oversubscribed, I would rather have that than no races.

Gadarene a great word which could describe most forumites:D

I wonder if there has a been a proportionately large increase in long races that are EOD.
A theory of mine is that the reason pre entry long races get quickly oversubscribed is because of the very reason that they are pre-entry, i.e. the race can only take a finite number of entries due to carpark space or whatever, so people tend to think it's pre-entry because it's often oversubscribed so better get my entry in early in case I miss out?
I have to admit when I saw Ennerdale was a championship race this year I thought "better get my entry in early", one only has to look at the forum to know how many people have been asking for Borrowdale, Langdale, etc entries this year.

Probably a lot of truth in that; next years Keswick Tri sold out in under 3 days, purely on reputation (it's a nice race, but it's not that good!)
Maybe the future is for some of these long races to revert to EOD. Fair enough that may cause serious cash flow issues, but, if they can be overcome, then at least no forumites can whinge about entrants not turning up!

I agree with that. I've never been one for doing lots of races per year but if more of the Lakes classics and other events were EOD I'd probably enter a few more. However I do have some sympathy for race organisers who have to deal with large numbers turning up for races which clearly can't handle the traffic, Borrowdale springs immediately to mind.
Perhaps an either/or approach such as at Duddon might work better?

I like this idea and one way perhaps we could help would be by making the effort to car share more - I believe on the longer races the real pressure is sometimes on parking etc, rather than necessarily environmental. (Some organisers are doing a good job of encouraging this - Ian Hodgson parking arrangements for example). The other issue that might cause problems for this idea however is where ROs need to vet experience, but good clarification of what they wanted for that particular race might help prevent anyone turning up who was likely to be refused entry.

Just get on with it they usually are ;)
Just don't go out for 12 hours midweek between them like I did a couple of years ago

seems a bit daft though bill when there's plenty of weekends through the summer with no Lakes ALs on at all ... There's only three superlongs, may as well spread em out, if you want more people to do them that is.
LakesRunner have put Great Lakes Run on the weekend after them too. :(
Anyhow, reccied Ennerdale yesterday - god it's a beast isn't it. A real step up from Duddon, which seemed a lot closer to Borrowdale in difficulty.
Ennerdale totally different cup of tea - much rougher terrain than either those two, some soul-sapping losses of altitude that then have to be regained, and soooo long. I was thinking as we saw the drop-off between Pillar and Scoat fell 'I'm not sure I will actually enter this race'.:o
And no water anywhere (not flowing water anyway), unless I was being more dozy than usual?

sure there's reasoning behind fixtures, but sometimes to an outsider (i.e., doesn't live in Lakes and not involved in ROing) it can look a bit .... illogical. :)

you mean the LCT? it's a points competition contested by entering the Lakeland Classics: so anyone who does 2 superlongs (Duddon, Ennerdale, Wasdale) and 1 long (Borrowdale, Three Shires, Langdale), will be classified in the points. You don't have to enter the LCT (I thought?), I think someone keeps an eye on it.
