    For Clarity:

    "Best Improver" award is for the biggest improvement in points since the previous year.

    Edwin Sherstone of top felling club Southport but who is a very nice chap who introduced himself as I passed him on the Wasdale at the top of Scafell Pike, scored 15% more points in 2009 than he did in 2008. So he gets the mug.

    Gavin Patterson (CFR) scored 11% more, Hazel Robinson 10% more, etc.

    We calculate the % change for every runner who completed in 2008 and 2009 including those who show a deterioration, for 2009 up to -20%.

    However we do not give a mug for deteriorating performance.
