Thread: Today's Injuries

    Re: Todays Injuries

I was thinking the look I was going for was more robocop meets storm trooper. I do not have merrylegs at the moment but have being using the term ball bags a fair bit recently.

Yes being injured sucks but just put positive spin on things and it always seems better. Stretching, weights for upper body all that kind of stuff I can never really be bothered with should keep me out of mischief. I am a fast healer and as it is a removable robo leg I can work on propreception from next week so could be worse. Feel like I am about to break into song but I will leave it to the pro's

Daleside, think it i more a question of who cracks first, me or the wife who has to put up with me? My money would be on the wife as I never tire of my own whining.

Fleeter, know you had even longer term stuff as well. Can imagine it makes you appreciate your running in the hills more when you come back to it?

What a beautiful day, I thought I'd do some gardening before heading for the Trunce. Bad Move.

Pulled something in my back and now I can hardly move. Hurts like hell and is making me feel sick. No lumps sticking out so fingers crossed it's just a pulled/torn Muscle.

i was 8 miles out today, enjoying the sunshine and bombing downhill when i went right over on my left ankle. Bit of a crunch, so stamped on it a few times, felt okay so finished the last 6 miles albeit at slighly slower pace. Surprisingly enough its a bit sore now!
I blame it on wearing my walshes after having spent all winter running in mudclaws!

Don't know about the Valium! I'd be falling asleep and don't really want to start taking antidepressants either, esp one that is adictive.

The MR use Diazepam and if any one thinks they are going to medicate me (rubber glove or not) had better watch out.....

I've been taking Ibuprophen and that has been doing the trick. It's still sore and bending down is tricky and painful but yesterdays slow run made it abit easier.

Going out shortly for another slightly longer run.

    Thanks for the concern

    Re: Todays Injuries

Diazepam is the generic name for Valium and it's a tranquilliser not an anti- depressant ie it tranquils muscles as well as moods. Just a point of information.

Hey glad its not too bad! Was getting quite busy in here.

Mine I reckon is coming along a treat although now has gone very stiff because of the cast. Off to physio and the orthopedic specialist again next week. Once seen the specialist I will go to a proper sports physio and see what they say.

Oh and the joys of the NHS physio have to be heard to be believed. She wants to try to recreate the conditions when I hurt my ankle. Now bear in mind the High Peaks Marathon was where I did it I am dreading this! Can just see me paddling around in a bath of mud and ice cubes whilst she turns the lights off in the room??
