There is no question that the racing line is to stick to the paved path; even in the wet it is very fast.
Might be my fault that Geoff. Adam (Breaks) was the lad with me, so he trusted my route over the top (the fool!), and then the rest followed. Helen went the rough route and said it was quick. I guess I used the slabs because I knew they were there and got me to the right of Swines Back.

The slabs up to Mill Hill were awful yesterday: slipping all over the place. Took a stumble on a small descent, so am nursing a sore knee today.

No, I thought that you went the correct way, Phil. I'm sure it's faster the way you went along the slabs, rather than Helen's route (although who am I to argue with Helen's ace navigation skills?). Maybe the rough route simply suits some people better than others.

Well done for winning, by the way - you were obviously feeling a bit better than last year, when some numpty from Pennine beat you!! (I don't have many good days, so when they do come along it's easy to remember them).

There seem to be 15 missing.
I'm fairly sure 234 started and 231 had been accounted for when I looked at the board

I hope they are not (1) brother & sister, because they are definitely (2) man & wife, and by some strange (3) coincidence they have a lovely baby girl! Now, she should have some good genes.

Oops! Swoop just beat me to it.

Wait until I tell my Sister about this thread. Hasn't anybody noticed the striking family resemblance? We both share the same assets as featured in the avatar...
