) It's light and easy for town and i have panniers for hauling my work clothes / laptop around too so it can be really practical! and as Ady said, its not so much a thief magnet as a mtn bike. £800 isn't too bad a price for a decent bike, i paid a bit less but that was luck and eyelash fluttering
maybe paying a little bit more will encourage you to use it a bit more ......
