That's too much science for me. I find if I just carry on running, maybe taking a bit of extra care, maybe using frozen pea treatment or deep heat prior to the run, making sure I do thorough warm ups and maybe wearing an ankle or knee support if it feels like it helps, it all ends up okay in the end

My right ankle for instance has been high maintenance for ages now, although its surprisingly got better just recently maybe because i've got a new injury (my left knee) to take my mind off of it. Often the mere act of putting on my running gear and tying up my shoe laces makes a leg I was limping on recover, if only for the run itself, with it going lame again on me almost as soon as the run's over.
I struggled with my left knee for three months last year and my right ankle most of the time and, apart from the pain and trouble hobbling down stairs first thing each morning, I'm fine..............

Started back training about a month ago after a long long rest away from running only to find myself booking an appointment at the local physiotherapist. How long should it take to get back to racing fitness from a long period of rest?
Foot aches underneath especially when training on roads, have been training on the fells and only got a few pains, should I continue training and hope it clears up?
Just had my cast off my broken arm so I'm officially not injured anymore. Phsyio reckons its 12 weeks before my arm could realistically take a fall, so 7 weeks, I think Spelga is 6 weeks off, so I'll be fine for that now for sure. Will probably do Ras Yr Aran and Edale Skyline as well. But will stick to hilly road races for the next 3 weekends.
My ankle and lower leg is giving me grief again, after 6 months of it in the other leg.
I'm just starting to get some fitness back, I've been taking it slowly and have built it back up to 30 miles. I've managed 2 weeks at 30 miles now and then this..
Why am I so injury prone? It seems that if I do more than 20 miles a week my body starts to fall apart.
You are NOT alone Hopey!!
I'm chasing pain and misery around my body endlessly.
Current theory is that my "hamstring" is now a meniscal (cartilage) problem in my knee and MAY warrant a trip to see the surgeon........is there life after an arthroscopy??
Any experiences welcomed!
I've had 4 arthroscopies, one on my right and three on my left.As long as you don't rush back too soon, you should be fine.My problem was playing football 9days after having my one done which led to another.Experienced discomfort for a while but once they settle they are back to normal.(quit football as well)![]()
I'm only 28 mind and have already purchased some sticks to assist my 60 year old arthiritic hobble !![]()
