Orthotics and fell shoes

Chaddy what non running trainers do you use your orthotics in?

All my shoes, including spd cycling shoes...

Not my slippers though...

Sorry mate I meant to say can you get them in your trainers, not running trainers, fashion trainers? I'm having problems finding ones that they'll fit in.

they fit in all shoes- even my track spikes!
Non running shoes are not a problem

Has anyone tried the orthotics that Lakes Runner are doing?

I'm not sure how effective they'll be, but they don't look big and bulky.

I was wondering about the same thing...I'm going to have a chat with them today, so I'll let you know how I get on.

It seems like a tricky issue...maybe for some more than others. With flat overpronating feet like mine, I was told by one podiatrist that I should be in supportive trail shoes as much as possible. If that's the case, then fell-shoe-specific orthotics may be a bit over the top.

I know in the advert that you have them as supportive as you like, but I'm not sure how that will work?

I've just had a chat with David at Lakes Runner...

And as yet I don't know how things will go, as I haven't got the orthotics, but what he said seemed to make sense.

The impression I got was that he takes quite a different approach to some sports-relevant podiatrists (ie the only other person I've talked to!). Most of them would take a kind of road-running approach where overpronation is the biggest issue. I guess it seemed to me that this approach was different, where corrections are probably much more subtle, and allow your feet to help with things, rather than just blocking overpronation with something rigid.

So all of that is reflected in the very different style of orthotic, which may be a little better for those of us who like to run in fell shoes.
