If only that were true. The National ain't 9 miles anymore. And more's the pity, I never really understood why it was shortened.

Ok. I'm not saying necessarily that you can train three times a day and do a demanding job.

There is funding out there for every single athlete who wants to take advantage of it. Yes, seriously. It is called welfare benefits. Why not?
Chris do you consider it moral to build a running career off the sweat of others?

The country is already in the process of financial ruin!Coe wrote that article without really giving an opinion on the brits poor showing.

Coe, Bedford and others know why our athletes can't compete with the Africans, but they either pretend not to know or are truly ignorant of the truth.

There seems to be a 'see no evil, hear no evil' mentality amongst those who should or do know better.A sort of 'if we all pretend it isn't, then it really isn't' attitude. The truth is 'it is' and the sooner people start dealing with it the sooner our sport can recover.

I was listening to a radio program about athletics yesterday. One bloke said our sport(athletics) was the most corrupt.Perhaps thats the real reason why kids want nothing to do with it.

It's irrelevant who it is. If the problem in athletics is corruption, then kids must be turning away from football in their droves. England head coach being investigated for witholding evidence in a trial, clubs being investigated for illegal payments to agents, no proper drug testing program.... It's hardly a model sport?
