As best as I can, I am in the hands of Mr Milan the web man.

Glad you all seem to like the Trunce and if anyone has any suggestions as to avoiding the queues, I am all ears.

I spoke to the guy that uses the land and he was not open to me putting a new gate to the side of the kissing gate, something about runners don't care and would leave it unlocked.
He is a bit of a misery and, aparently, always was before he retired.

leave it as it is Plumbum, its just one of the idiosyncracies that make it such fun, there are plenty of road 10k's for those worried about pb's (whatever they are!) and a clear path

Wasn't there a great big hole in the fence at the side of the gate [if I've got the right one]? I know at least one person who used it to beat the queue..
Does he own the land or simple use it, if the later the owner might be more open.
As for results its only been 6 days, the main FRA site hasn't had any results added for 3 weeks!

I agree with Straggler. The bantering in the stile queue contributes towards the relaxed low-key feel of the event. It's not a pb course. And the stile is always the same for those trying to get better times as the season progresses.

Take the point about PB's normally, but this is one race where pbs are fascinating given the three week cycle. Also a chance for a plodder like me to get up on a leader board!

I don't think the queue at the gate is a problem, just an incentive to get faster by a few minutes or so!

Yes there is a hole in the fence at the side of the gate.

The guy is only the user of the land but gets very possesive, hence the barbed wire that appeared on top of the fence, mentioned by Richard, that we pulled off during the winter.
Gordon Davies, the guy that started the Trunce in 68, has spent a few weeks speaking with owners and Barnsley council and got nowhere (yet). Still ongoing but doesn't seem to be getting anywhere.

Bit like the results, working on it but down to someone elses priorities.
Usually try to get results out on the night and get them confirmed by the end of the week.
Extenuating circumstances of Martin's deli belly didn't help.

What about sending the juniors anticlockwise it would keep happy and a few more persons away from the kissing gate at the start. (just a thought) And “Thanks for a great series of races”

Yep, I agree with that - you can't moan about being in a queue because running faster avoids it (I can still moan privately though!)

Blimey '68 - 40 years. Well done to everyone who keeps this race going, it is fantastic.
