Tough day. Legs wrecked after that never ending descent from Ingleborough.
Stopped to help a fallen female off Whernside. She was called Sue Beconsall (?), had a nasty fall, cut chin mashed fingers and bumped shoulder/chest. Got her into waterproofs and another runner alerted a marshall who got 1st aiders from checkpoint. Anyone know if she is ok?
Small in comparison, but 4 toenails are turning black. Looks like a momento of the race may last longer than mashed legs!

What a great race. I was concerned that with so many runners, there would be problems with congestion at the start and all the way up Pen-y-Ghent, but the organisation was first class, and with everyone lining up in order of estimated finishing time, I think it was less congested than last year. Well done to all.

I felt knackered all the way round, but my time was 10 minutes better than last year, 3:58:25. The most satisfying thing was making up 49 places going up Ingleborough.

    ouch
took it steady at first and i think it served me well for later
finished in 3 hrs 35 something i think.
the run in was murder and felt like id done a road marathon

the climbs felt okay but the long paths and road parts was a diffwent story.
I should have worn fell shoes as i was slipping about in my trail shoes.

well organised and my mother in law has rung me to say she was watching my progress.

off out to the pub now

Loved it today, good to see stan and Jamie. Was looking for 4:45 but secretly wishing 4:30 but got 4:38. Well pleased and all the stats are great, I took over 46 people on descent from ingleborough, my plan of taking it easy to stave off the cramps really did work. Well organised too, the atmosphere all the way around was awesome, strangers offering drink and sweeties... you could only do that on the fells eh, you'd get locked up anywhere else.

Anyway, already planning how I can knock that 8 minutes off next years time.

Well done to all the runners, had some good conversations at various points on route. Loved the butties at the end, top nosh.

Excellent day, finished 4:30. A bit disappointed but suffered severe cramps coming of Ingleborough. I get them every time around the 20 mile mark !!
Did you see the Mountain Rescue Hummer some machine that. Must be a cash rich mountain rescue team?
Big thankyou to the organisers. Did a fantastic job. Also thanks to the First aid team in the tent, had the unfortunate mishap of having to use them, they did a great job in sorting me out. Seen any photo links?
