Well organised too, the atmosphere all the way around was awesome, strangers offering drink and sweeties... you could only do that on the fells eh, you'd get locked up anywhere else.
Was it you I was talking to going up Whernside - I was in blue vest with white stripe with a small salomon rucsac. You were talking about cramp.

Well Wycoller didn't quite blow up as predicted. However slow trot off Whernside and even slower off Ingleborough. Finished in 5:01, tried hard for about last 20 mins to break 5 hours but legs didn't cooperate.

A classic case of going off too fast, but am pretty pleased with a 4.38.

Huge thanks to Brett and all at K&C - you made my day. Hope the club chinese goes down well.

How many forunites did I see. Too many name but it was good to see them all. Finally met Stolly on his home turf. Ran with him for a while but I must have been annoying him and he put his foot down

How did I do? Crap very disappointed with my 4:36:04

Was on a good schedual and went up Whernside with no problem but felt the cramps trying to rear there ugly head, couldn't stetch out and from there to the end I was running(surviving) at a slow pace

Ate masses of food and drink so it wasn't that. Worked out what the compass was for, It spread brie really well on my Bagette at Ribble Head

First Sunburn of the year for me, any one else sporting shoulder straps marks off their vest.

The lack of running in the last 2/3 weeks plus my chest problem messed me up. Not a happy bunny tonight.

    Q) you needed to bring ID to make sure it was you who got the number and dibber and then gave you a dibber you could hand to any one.

On a brighter note thanks to Jamie and the jelly babbies.

    Great organisation so well done

Yes, good advice indeed Dom. Got there about 20 minutes before the leaders and watched for about an hour then drove to the finish. Great atmosphere and great event.

Next year I would like to do the race, so I will need to keep up the mileage and get plenty of long 'uns in approaching April 2009.

Saw detritus 21 put the jacket on at the Hill Inn and throw a bag over it. A big well done to all those who finished and a well done to those who took part but retired for whatever reason.

Well done MG, especially after not much more than a month's proper preparation.

Your arrival on the scene coincided with me finally running off the mother of all stitches picked up on the descent from PyG. Mind you those chocolate dark peat vests are a bit....... er naff

Could well have been me, I always talk about cramp, its been a pain for me for the last year or two.
I had skins on under my blue vest and shorts, again in an attempt to keep them at bay... oh I also had a black hat on. I reached wernside at 2:45, how about you?
