Mind you IDP - how many times have you run over the Long Mynd?

Would make it even more interesting if the clag was down for the Trog What are the chances of that?

Mr1470 - most of the route is fine
the (roughly 2-Mile) section along the edge of Kinder from where you first get up onto the plateau, past the Downfall and Red Brook to just before Kinder Low where it softens up again, has lots of boulders and is potentially dodgy for ankles.

Thanks Daz, sounds like it might be ok. A couple of rough miles, my ankle will cope with I think. Hopefully will be there on Sunday then

    Mr 1470.....

This is very much a "runners" race, rather than a fell runners race.

Although if the weather is particularly nasty you could go astray and find some nice rough stuff!

The going is generally very good, the whole route is runnable (plenty of fast going) and mostly on paths & tracks, with bits of paving too....

I'm sure you will have seen a route map, if not there is one to be found at http://www.cs.man.ac.uk/~temples/hc/

    See you there

i may well be watching at some strategic point en route

beware when following the locals, ie pennine, dark peak.

my tip is to pick out the KFR.

Thanks for that Luv Shack. It sounds like just what I need at the moment, nothing too difficult underfoot so I won't re-injure the ankle...and a "runner's race" you say? Oh my goodness, I'll have to see if I can remember how you do that

I'm hoping to be at Mill Hill-William Clough possibly walking to Down Fall and back area weather permitting
