    Re: Kinder Trog

I loved the race, was chuffed with my time, met a few forumites, drove home, showered, made lunch, put a new wall light up, then sat down and ended up in the worst pain I've ever felt!

I was writhing around and shaking with the pain, so went to a&e where 6 hours later I was told I've got ankle ligament damage and an achilles strain.

I have no idea how I did it.

    Balls.

Well done all - thanks for a great race.

Thanks to everyone who advised me this race would be ok for my dodgy ankle....you were right!! Just what I needed. Had to take it very easy on a couple of downhills, but made up for it by putting plenty of effort in on the ups and only walking on the climb up from the stream crossing.

And big thanks to the organisers and the marshalls, a cracking race and I suspect I shall be back to do some more races in the area. It was smashing, although I can imagine it being very different when the clag's down and the ground isn't so dry

Nice to see Swoop and Fleeter. Well done on a cracking time Fleeter, and great consistency Swoop

    Thumbs up Re: Kinder Trog

Many Thanks to Luv Shack, marshals, Mountain Rescue, police etc for helping day run smoothly - perfect weather helped too!

got to Peep-O-Day feeling OK (and harbouring thoughts of sub-3hr finish), but ground conclusively to a halt thereafter and finished in 3:12

    thoroughly enjoyable nonetheless

    sub-3 next year...

    Re: Kinder Trog

My first Kinder Trog, have been looking forward to it for some time. Unfortunately set off a bit too quick so was struggling at the first road crossing which made the slog up to Mill Hill all the tougher....

IanDarkPeak's daughter handed me some jelly babies and I soon perked up (Ta Amelia!). Felt much better by the Downfall then things picked up and I even managed to overtake a few runners....

Super race, hard and dry underfoot. Cool conditions and thanks to the marshals for all their efforts. Met a gaggle of forumites & clubmates, some for the first time.

And a speedy recovery to Marty McFly and MattHunt from the KT induced trauma!

It's probably the first time in my life I haven't felt guilty about taking sweets from a child!

Oh, not that I make a habit of that sort of thing....
