I suppose you are right - I thought I might try your look - but I cannot quite see myself as a potato

Enjoyed series although in the end Potto and I were pipped by a Springfield runner who got 2nd place. He was 6th in the first race but lost several places yesterday which he then made up today. Also there was junior who ran well on friday and today but was not allowed to run the senior Bogs yesterday but did well in the junior version so he was included in the series results and came 3rd overall.
So the upshot was I was 4th and 1st vet overall and Potto was 5th I think.

Just like to echo a big thanks to Bill for all the work that he puts into the 3 day series and I really enjoyed Friday's and today's races. Was expecting numbers to be up this year, especially for wicken hill which would have been a good warm-up for blackstone edge next week. Strongly recommend that all forumites do this series next year - there's something for everyone: Fri: Steep; Sat: Navigation; Sun: Fast.

p.s. If you read this Bill can you keep hold of a copy of the Bogs route as I wouldn't mind having a go at it as a training run...

    Cheers, CH.

What??? another youngster allowed in?? and he didn't even do yesterdays race?? I heard footsteps behind me on Friday and I thought it was a lady until near the summit I heard the young boy behind me ask 'are we near the top' when I told him yes he ran passed me and ran off!

Well done AS and the Springfield runner who made up all the places lost yesterday and everyone else who took part - except the under 16s they can sod off!!!

Yeah, what's that all about, fell running when you're young and agile and your joints still work? Surely that's cheating? Don't these young upstarts realise it's an old man's game?

Results for today's race and the series now on: www.cvfr.co.uk

There were a pair of tracksters left in the pub after today's race. Let me know if they're yours.

Glad you enjoyed it folks. Its a shame that not many people do these races, but I still enjoy putting them on (by Sunday evening when its all over, anyway! )

Compared to me Potto is a young man.

Despite my name I thought it unfair to have a go at the juniors even though he did not do the route finding Bogs race (the junior version appeared to be marked) and no one was informed of the intention to include the placings in the junior races in the overall competiton meaning you could not run tactically or at least try to beat the person in question. However I am aghast to see that some of you are more miserable than me

My mate Dick Ballentine got caught out 2 years ago when he thought he had won vet 40 for the series, but it turned out Chris Smales had entered each race on the day and we did not know till after the last race, though it is unlikely he would beat Chris Dick was not racing him in his mind but targeting others who had signed up for all three races and was therefore at a disadvantage, whilst I suspect Chris knew exactly who he had to beat and by how much.

The young man deserved his prize, but it would have been nice to know starting the Tom Tittiman that he was a competitor for the overall placings and therefore competition to the rest of us.
