I assume we all got emails from S4C asking us to provide a bit of personal background for the TV commentary?
(or are they only interested in me)
Not sure how this will work -
will they pick out the most "interesting" CV's then look for their number during the race so as to work the most "commentary-worth" stuff in?
or will they find themselves saying "and here comes number 396... another miserable sod who couldn't be bothered to return our questionnaire, so we can't tell you anything about them..."?
Swoop (might as well use the proper race thread rather than the one in Training) - what time were you thinking of going for the half-way-recce on the Friday?
(there may be one or two Stockport Harriers doing a similar thing)
Done Snowdon 4 times and got blisters every time. Shoes were 1. Walshes, 2. Adidas Swoop, 3. New Balance road shoes (832's), and, 4. (last year which weren't too bad) Innovate Roclite 305's. I think it's a combination of the heat which, on the way up softens your feet, and the rapid foot movement RFM which I employ on the 5 mile downhill strecth, usually overtaking 50 - 60 SFM's. Roadrunner recommended Trailfox's to me a couple of years ago but before I could break them in our chewey bulldog bitch did it for me (bitch!). Just bought some New Balance 908's in the States (pure poetry!) last week and will give them a go this time. Watch this space (or look in at the hospital tent at the end of the race!!)
Yipeejust got a call from the secretary to say i've got a place this year, will be wearing my flyrocs if they manage to stay in one piece by then.

re Trailfox shoes.... I find mine treacherous on any damp/slippery slabs
is this noted by anyone else, or could I have a faulty pair (the grips started peeling off after only 2 runs)?
is it worth looking at the myriad of innov-8 shoes available to find a suitable pair, I'm asking myself... Was gonna use my mudrocs but they might be a bit unforgiving
