Goodness me - no one with any news yet, I thought Roadrunner first but not best time yet and Katie Ingram first lady.

Felt much hotter than the temperature guage indicated and didn't get any cooler the higher we went - I kept waiting for the sudden drop in temp or cool breeze but it didn't come - even in the clag at the top it was still warm.

Looked in the hospital tent at the finish, Ian Hughes was prostrate but seemed to be breathing, Neil Parry had taken a bit of a tumble but nothing like as dramatic as last year.

Off to Ireland now and will inform you about my exploits up Croagh Patrick!

Have a great trip Welsh Harrier, i'm sure Snowdon is a good warm up for the Irish Exploits

Really warm day, great to see some familiar faces, never have I need a bottle of water as much as that, Pinno was up there taking photos too, saw the rescue helicopter so hope everyone is ok, had a large tea and carrot cake at Pete's Eats then onto prizegiving and a pasta meal with swoop

    top day

Yes a fabulous day out at Snowdon managed to get 3/4 the way up before the race started. Tracey was sorted down near the road leading up to the cattle grid. Her photos are the first upload from the tarmac.

Roadrunner was way ahead of anyone at the 3/4 mark very impressive running indeed. Lots of forumites out today Roadrunner, Harrymoon, Swoop, Welsh Harrier, Mahar, Marvin, Ianr, Sarez plus Tatenhall and Helsby runners plus some of the Clywdian runners plus many many more. If I have missed anyone apologies.

Had a great time taking photos would have preferred to be running it but did manage a steady jog down stopping every so often to snap a few more runners.

Noticed a few injuries on the mountain today hope none to serious?

Also got to meet photographer Alastair Tye. A great day and well done to all who took part.

Lost count of the number of photos I took so bear with me whilst I get them uploaded may take a day or two.

    The Snowdon photo link is:

Are you after the results WH? They're at: http://www.tdl.ltd.uk

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who suffered with the heat - at one point I was asked if I had fallen in a river earlier in the course. 15 mins behind schedule due to heat! Anyone else have a similar tale to tell?

    Re: Snowdon 2008

Hot humid day, I think most (around me) were 3-4 minutes down on their expected time. I did 1:20:03, and finished with or ahead of people I expected to be with so felt I had a good run, but have ran up the hill faster on my own. Bit of 'drama' at the end, but that all seems fine now. There were 4 runners in the local hospital tonight with broken bones or dehydration, but all OK now well will be after a good recovery.

wow what a race. first time for me...but a little too hot

felt ok i suppose on the way up but the legs morphed into jelly by the time i got back onto the tarmac on the way down

lesson learned....train for it next year as short and fast races are not enough. finished in 1:32:45 though have been missed off the results

hope the injured runners are ok...got 'buzzed' by the rescue heli on the way down

Well where do i start... enjoyed the climb and ran well, managed to lose concentration for a second and fell half way down while going well.I reckon i lost around 2 mins due to the fall.I was with the first lady all the way before i fell and she finished 2 mins ahead at end after i brushed myself down and limped home !
Weather was very hot with barely a breeze to cool things down.I feel like i've been to war this morning with 4" gash on my thigh and a sprained wrist, scuffed elbows etc.Just a point about the trailfoxes...they were great,no blisters although probably didn't descend quick enough after fall to get any blisters

Fairly pleased with yesterday's run. 324th/488 in 1.54.17.
1.30 slower than last year but was 3.50 slower at the top and improved my descent by 2.20.
Last year I was ranked 205 on the up and 400 on the down.
This year 252 on the up and 380 on the down.
Enjoyed the last bit when everyone else was falling apart and I passed loads on the run-in.
    Last mile in 6.42!
