Have you tried http://www.alpkit.com/gamma/ It's not the smallest in the world but the single LED is bright and the rear has a red light which also flashes so the cars have something to aim at.

Blimey - £12.50. I've read a few reviews and there's some reference to "ok for running over easy terrain".

Yeah had mine for about a year now and a couple of lads at the club have them. Fantastically bright for the money. Should be easy enough to fix. Wires/contacts sometimes crack due to movement (basically - metal fatigue!) and it's simple enough to repair with a soldering iron.
The £12.50 is including P+P as well. Mine should have arrived by tomorrow, I'll report back.
