    Sorry for my dumbness but what exactly do you mean by gel or bar - do you mean a cream as apposed to savlon.

    Im wearing my adidas kanadia trail shoes.

    He means enery gels like Powerbar gels or Hi5 or SIS stuff. Have you been to town yet??

    I didnt need to go to town because i got my waterproof walking trousers and foulded them up really tight and wrapped my sister bobble round them and was able to cram them in my bumbag.

    The need to buy a whistle though ha.

    i'm a very safety concsious dude, not just for my sake but for others who may get injured too. So, my first aid kit contains two wound dressings (just in case anyone has arguments with styles), i have antiseptic wipes, plasters, blister plasters, small sterile water, bandage, pins, Two deep heat sachets , space blanket and small surgical tape. All this compreses into a very small pack.
    Oh and Al, how are you with navigation? I go running sundays in bowland, you would be welcome to come and have some nav sessions, as long as you bear in mind i'm an old git and cant keep up with young whipper snappers
