As an alternative slant on things...

The chinese character for 'crisis' is the same as that for 'opportunity'...
Someone I knew hated Maggie when he lost his job in the mines until he now earns more than he did in the mines working self-employed as an instructor for driving instructors and is now grateful for all the troubles leading to the mine closures.

Yes totally agree - I have been through redundancy myself and in the long run it turned out to be a good kick up the arse, plus a pay out which I spent on a new kitchen (the original one was brown )

I think however ina time like this it is more difficult to find somethign else, which is bed Grrr it makes me angry
