Scantily clad, at that time of year in those temperatures? 'ard as nails!

One of my very favourite events. Recommended to anyone who fancies trying an ultra for the first time as there's a surprising amount of running

Sent my entry off and looking forward to the race.

Now I should really consider a few things, which hopefully someone can assist with.....

    - What shoes?
    - What's the navigation like?
    - What sorts of foods are available en route?

Mostly good tracks so trail shoes are OK, navigation Ok, food non-existent - maybe a few biscuits at Mankinholes.
As mentioned elsewhere it's a good route for anyone wanting an introduction to the longer stuff.

Hmm... may actually have a go this year... have to ask my (almost ex-)wife if she wouldn't mind awfully babysitting and maybe paying for it as a birthday treat!

Thanks - usually have a chance to recce a route pre-ultra but won't have a chance this time.

Food's fine at the Hobble. Loads of cake, biscuits, hot-cross buns and donuts There were always hot-dogs too at around 14miles but last year they were'nt there.

Agree re trail shoes and relatively easy navigation. Only slightly tricky bit is in Hebden Bridge
