Big thanks to Clader Valley and all the marshals for holding the event today. It was hard work in places (especially with little legs!) but managed 3:53. The running was surprisingly good from Clock Hill to High Brown Knoll as the Half Trog runners had made a good path.

That last hill from Nutclough Bridge.....Ouch..It hurt!

Well what can I say, that's got to be the hardest thing I've done in a long while. I could have bailed out on a couple of occassions but thanks to Merrylegs for drip feeding me flapjack and pushing me along, we got there in the end only to learn the Calder Valley Ladies had won the team prize with me as 3rd counter!

Never again!

A big thanks to all the organisers and marshals (who looked perished) for a splendid day.

I agree, big thanks to CVFR for the organisation, encouragement and just having to stand around all day! The moors looked fab snow covered so took my mind off feeling rubbish, and being near/at back nice tracks had been worn out (although that didn't stop me having a couple of slight direction issues for some reason). For anyone who did half looks like the results are already on the cvfr site. I'm going to look at last years full and be depressed by how many hours slower I was this year!

What a beautiful place to run, in some places it was like running on a rich luxury iced dessert eh. I've never run in such conditions and nearly came a cropper going up to Withins, went right up to my waist, and it was arctic winds up there too, for me that was the toughest part of the race.
Thanks Merry for offer of NUUN tabs. I did cramps going up to last hill (checkpoint) but wasnt going to let them beat me this time and ran through them. I thought they'd made for a slow time but I actually knocked about 6-7mins of last years time...bonus, I'm getting there eh.
Anyway, alls well now after my Chicken Balti and Naan (not NUUN) bread.
A big thanks to CVFR for a cracking reception, the soup, sandwich and cake was just what I needed before trying to get into my car...ouch!
Last year I said never again and said it several times during the race but hey, you never know I may be back for more pain?
