I'd be keen to look at Leg 3 or 4 (or both?)

I'll keep an eye on this thread.

Good luck if I don't make it myself.
" Leg 3 or 4 (or both?)" - BOTH? - Blimey lantern, have you been in secret training?

seriously though, let me know if you can make 6th, 13th or 27th - logistical options are increased with 2 cars, or we could drive up together in 1 car...

I used to regularly do a version of leg 3 and 4. Start at Gillercombe and follow Coast to Coast to High Raise and then BGR route all the way to wasdale and then leg 4 to honister before finishing down road via seatoller to Gillercombe. A fine day out and only misses the First section of leg 3 but allows for one car.

Lost me there Corniceman - Start at Gillercombe and Coast to Coast to High Raise? I have done High Raise via Stonethwaite/Cumbria way/Greenup Gill etc.
Would appreciate a bit more info if possible.

    Balin,
Sorry if not clear. I think It is called Gillercombe Farm the Campsite near Stonethwaite on the main Borrowdale Road. Basically from Stonethwaite you follow The Coast to Coast path up to Greenup Crags and then across the moor to the summit of High Raise and pick up the BGR from there on in.

Its further than it looks to HR from Stonethwaite and makes up for missing the first part of leg 3.

I'm thinking of doing another Friday in March - either 6th, 13th or 27th
    probably just do Leg2
or maybe go from Honister and do the latter half of Leg 4 and the start of Leg5
    or some of Leg3...
or do a 3 Shires recce...
happy to go on my own, but company welcome
I should be out at least two of those fridays if you don't mind another tagging on?

    - "tagging on"? - you'll be leading the way mate!

All this talk of BG recce'ing has made me keen, so leaning towards earliest opportunity now - i.e. Mar.6th

I see on another thread you're intending to do Leg2 soon, so I guess you wouldn't want to do that again?

my fitness won't extend to the whole of Leg3 (esp. dropping in/out of Wasdale), but...

how about a 2-car jobby (Dunmail+Langdale) to do Leg3 as far as Bowfell...?

Hi Daz, sounds like a plan,

Don't think I'll get too much done on Friday given conditions but Dunmail - Langdale sounds like a good idea. 6th March should be good for me too.

    I'll PM you.

Mislaid on Leg 1 clockwise on Friday night (3rd April) a rolled up pair of black overtrousers. Possibly lost on Skiddaw on the way down towards the trod over to Gt Calva. I'd be grateful if anyone spots them.
