Sorry, no. I started and finished at Ribblehead.

There is quite a bit of snow on the steep bit of the ascent of Ingleborough and there was a group in full crampons and ice axes making a meal of it as we shot up in Roclites! I'd recommend climbing the stile at the bottom of the top wall and going up a grassy bit to the right. I reckon the conditions added about 25% to the overall time.

    Enjoy your day tomorrow.

Thanks for your posts. Ventured up Whernside on Sunday from Dent - plenty of snow on top but little ice to worry about on that route - might be different now given the warmer days. Next target Malta half - no snow there!
    Cheers

There was something in today's Westmorland Gazette about someone managing to fall off Whernside on Saturday. There was a good bit of snow facing Ribblehead, but you'd have to be daft to wander over the edge.

Have a good run in Malta.

Not many rocks & no ledges so pressume they only slid 50-60 feet?
Plenty of people were walking up Ingleborough armed with ski poles but they were more use as mud poles today.

Yes, I would say Sunday - a group of us did Horton to the Hill Inn.

Pen-y-Ghent was more treacherous than Whernside - lots of snow and ice the top of PYG, but as you climbed up the steep bit of Whernside, there was a snow overhang which was tricky to negotiate.

The Sea King was parked up at Ribblehead, with engines ticking over at around 11:30am on the Sunday.

Had a change of heart re 3 Peaks Entry - not doing enough fell training at the moment. Anyone?
Any monies will be donated to the local (3 Peaks) mountain rescue team.
    Cheers.

Darren if you/(or any one else) still have/has an entry then Brent (one of the TT organisors) would like to give it a go. I managed to talk him into having a jog round...

    Reply to me please.
