Disagree. I'm with Balin, it must be pretty upsetting if you can't get entry to an over-subscribed race only to hear that someone with an entry is givin it a miss to go out on the lash with thier mates.

I'd say the best thing is, if that is going to be your reason for not doing the race then don't broadcast it on here cos it's bound to get folks back up.

Have any of you people bothered to read the Dark Peak website?

If you wanted to race there was plenty time to pre-enter, it filled up slowly.

Or do you just want to have a whinge?

Can see where your coming from,If i was in his situation i'd be pissed off if i really wanted to run it and couldn't get a place,but it's the way it came across,there was plenty of time to enter,if he really wanted to run he should have got his entry in on time,it's not hard,I'm sick to death of people moaning about over subscribed races and not getting in,if you really want to run a race,get the entry form filled in as soon as it's available and get down to a post box.I've never had any trouble getting into a race

Here's the bit from the Dark Peak website. I've underlined one bit, especially for the hard of thinking;

The race is now full and entries have closed. If you have entered and have not received confirmation or rejection you will do so within the next few of days. To take account of the inevitable dropouts and no shows there are more runners entered than the entry limit. Hence there is not a waiting list, there are absolutely no entries on the day and the entries are not transferable. If anyone requires any further info contact the organiser directly (07970 891778) or check the Dark peak website.
