Parking
The race marshals will direct you to the fell race car parks.
Please do not park on the station approach (Outside the Station/Penny Pot Café)
Please car share.
Registration
Race registration is in Edale Village Hall. The hall is next to the main Edale car park.
Food And Drink
Refreshments will be available in the Village Hall after the race.
Certificates
If you complete the run, collect your certificate from the Village Hall
Prize Giving
As soon as possible. Hopefully about 3pm.

Race Instructions
Please carry the requested kit. Kit checks including spot checks will be made.

If you retire from the race you must report back to Edale Village Hall, even if you have reported your retirement to a marshal.


Keep to the paved path on the zig-zags where the course is marked at both the start and the finish of the race and where the course has been paved, please try to keep to the paving stones (NT request).

If you don't reach Mam Nick within two and a half hours of the start you will be timed out. You must report back to the village hall in Edale – this is non-negotiable.

The checkpoints are 1. Ringing Roger(no numbers taken) 2. Win Hill 3.Hope 4.Lose Hill 5.Mam Tor/Mam Nick 6.Lords Seat 7.Brown Knoll 8.Jacobs Ladder 9.Grindslow Knoll 10.Ringing Roger. Marshalls should be recording numbers at points 2-10.

When asked please be sure to tell the race marshals your race number.

Be careful along the road in Hope before going up to Lose Hill and at Mam Nick.


No dogs are allowed on the race.

Horses, walker and cyclists have just as much right to be on the hill as you. Please don’t give other hill users abuse- even if they do get in your way. If you do we would have to consider disqualification.

Trail shoes would prob be fine and actually would be better than fell for most of the route, which is similar to 3 pks surface. There is a boggy bit around brown knoll but on balance a trail shoe is prob the way to go.

A slight understatement! Tie your shoelaces tight and take a lifebelt...
Mind you, it was pretty dry up there last weekend so we may avoid the worst excesses this year.

I'll be wearing trail-ish shoes (La Sportiv) since there's a steep downhill bit on road in the middle.

Just a quick reminder that the first major downhill, onto the Edale Road in Hope is quite steep... Think I'll be putting up with the pain in my feet and not on my ar*e!

The key to enjoying yourself is to get round the first half as fast as possible - do an all out blast to Mam Nick and you'll find the second half a breeze - it's all very runnable and mostly downhill

A nice plod round on my glass ankles will suffice... until the last 30 yards.

I'm guessing the cameraman was stood behind the wall not in front of it.

To be fair though, this vid shows the only real fast grass descent on the whole skyline course. If i've got it right the runners have another small field, then arrive at the tarmac access road from twitchill farm all the way down to Hope.

I've run this race in mudclaws and they were fine too, just wore them down a bit on the rocks. I'll be using flyroc this year which is a fell biased trail shoe. I still reckon a standard trail shoe will be fine, especially if you want a bit more comfort for the long haul. The Trailcutter should defo be ok.

I'd go with trail shoes but for the rain and the forecast rain. I'll take both. I remember how much that tarmac hurts - but there again, how heavy do my Sauconys get when they're wet...

Its possible to run on the grass from twitchill farm
even when the main grass runs out just stick to the side , its grassy
