Just completed my first week of press ups (week 3, col 3):
Day 1: 14/18/14/14/22
Day 2: 20/25/15/15/26
Day 3: 22/30/20/20/28
The last 2 sets today hurt and it's only the first week, worrying...

Don't worry about the pain, this is as it should be. Get a couple of days rest before starting week 2 and you should find you're able to do it. Though the sessions are getting progressively harder, you'll be getting progressively stronger to match.
