I was once told by a very serious cyclist that hairless from the waist down is the way to go!
Im sure ive heard somewhere that it make zero difference what so ever, same with swimmers?

It only makes a difference if you fall, as it helps with road rash...

Thankfully, my legs aren't hairy, so I don't have this problem

Though the view that it helps road rash heal better as the hairs don't block the scab from healing has some merit. Grazed my leg last week and the scab is a bit of a mess due to my hairy legs.

less chance of chaffing I'd imagine

Generally the leg shaving is for ease of massage and embrocation...it's also useful if you're doing multisport as swimming is like moving through a silky substrate when shaved !!!!! TRy it !!!!

Also less problems for triathletes making the transistion from water to freezing cold rides, as the water disperses from the body quicker as hair holds it like a sponge and can give a chill

I also find it helps with fell running and xc running....I fell on some rocks at the Roaches race and the gash had less chance of picking up dirt ( from which you can die ).
