'Keep the joint moving, whilst obviously painful advice, I'd guess is better than finding out that you have to be immobilised for months, or that you have to have the joint surgically reconstructed or something. I know 6 weeks seems a long time, but I suppose it could be worse...
Best wishes, hope to see you again soon Stagger.

To think some folk in High positions pay for pain.

If they were in the pain I'm in I think they'd be cured for life

    Cheers TF

To be fair, I think knee pain is an unusual fetish even for toffs.

I hear that the Reservoir Bogs route is going to be particularly "interesting" this year

Hope you recover soon, Stagger. And hope you're still coming over to the Mourne Mountains at the weekend?

My guage for deciding if the route is good is whether it makes me grin when I think about it.
The extra little variations for this year's route make me smile like a maniacal joker.

    Re: Midgley Moor

Hi everyone - I did the Midgley Moor race - and now discover that I came second last on the day, by the sounds of things, I did well to get round and I only ended up on my backside once.

Wished I'd taken the long route instead of the short cut through the heather - the scratches on my legs have just about recovered! But it was an experience - the first time I'd worn my fell shoes or been fell running - someone kindly said afterwards that it was a 'toughy'. I figure that after the heather combined with the hail shower which had me grumbling and wondering whether I'd have been better off staying home with a cup of tea and Radio 4.

But I have joined Calder Valley Fell Runners so there's no escape now, and I'm looking forward to the summer and to getting a little more 'fell fit'!

Sorry to hear about your knee, Stagger, as I say, my aim was to get round without hurting myself or getting lost and I more or less achieved both aims!

Welcome to the sport, the forum, and CVFR! I hope all three give you many happy times in the future. If you appreciated being lashed by heather and hail at Midgley, it bodes well!
What have you got planned as your next race?

Not far of the 2010 edition. Was going to head up to Newlands for Causey Pike but think I will stay local (ish) and have a crack at this rascal. Anyone else from E.Lancs wants to car share drop me a PM.

    The big question is.

WILL STAGGER MAKE HIS RETURN TO MIDGLEY MOOR?
