Can't keep track of myself...especially when one of the clubs confuses me even more by giving a choice of 5 differently coloured vests...now, which could that be?
Looking forward to next Saturday and a good chat as we plod steadily up PYG. (The old rule for back-of-the packers: if you can't talk, you're going too fast.)

Skin will do nicely, ML, but bear in mind that it's your last remaining layer before hitting bone, so don't give away too much.

Rule 2 kicks in an hour later: 'Better get a move on or you'll miss the cut-off.'

Indeed, but not too fast that you can't get your sandwiches / cake / pork pie down going up Whernside

Nor, apparently, skin. Take a saw.

    Re: Three Peaks 2009

Coming back to Two Toenails' original point, does anyone know why ID is required for this race? I could understand it last year when it was an international event (with external scrutineers etc) but it seems an unusual precaution in a domestic fell race. Do any other events ask for runners to produce ID, and is there a real problem of imposters turning up and blagging the chance to slog 24 miles? BTW, I'm NOT knocking the race organisers, who do a great job. Just interested.

planning to watch, maybe park up at ribblehead and up to whernside and back to hill inn. this will be flagged won't it and ok to walk on the day as spectators as 'shorter' route up to whernside? that is special access on race day only.
