While on the subject of 'greasing up' does anyone else find the fell pony vest bad for nipple chaffage, even on small runs? My advice for ponies is to take a tub of this along........

That's waterproof full body cover and emergency food taken care of, not to mention finishing with a clean breast of health

As for the 3 peaks, I'm hoping to whiz up to Pen y Ghent tomorrow from Langcliffe and I'll feed back after. The thing is if they'd only run the right line off of Pen y Ghent for the race route it would be brilliantly muddy at any time of year but they do insist on running up and down the pennine way. My guess is that it will be as dry as arseholes.
The ground was like concrete up on Beamsley Beacon yesterday morning and the gully was bone dry I reckon PPP will be the same

If that's the case, are road shoes seriously an option? I had decided that I was definitely going to do it in Roclite 315's but now I'm beginning to wonder.

Looking at the forecast, there seems to be no serious prospect of rain between now and Saturday.

Muddy I'm looking forward to Stolly's report from PYG. However I'll be in Roclite 315s whatever I think

That's reassuring to know. I think I will do likewise. I don't really want to contemplate changing my plans at this late stage.
