    Re: Three Peaks 2009

    hi tup

i'll be there -trying to run- more of a jog/walk/crawl while trying not to get timed out - feels a bit of a push (in miles terms) after that winter illness lay off - been trying to build up gradually in not quite enough time.

did whernie and inglebugger wk end before last - not looking forward to all that limestone if it rains!!(went the public right of way on whernside and looked down at the race route and it was like a cliff!!)

so sadly no tuckshop - but maybe a social jelly baby if we meet while clawing our way up some hill...

    hope your niggle is cured!

I will probably use a Race Pro 4 with bladder (with nuun tab) to try and offset the cramp

Does anyone know if you have to carry a waterproof jacket (as oppose to windproof) if it is dry? The race info seems to imply waterproof jacket and trousers, whereas (I think) FRA mandatory kit is windproof, but organisers may specify waterproof if they think it i required.

    Thanks

This might sound like a daft question, but aren't most waterproof jackets also windproof?

Not a daft question but windproofs aren't waterproof otherwise they'd be a waterproof.

Right. So you would take a windproof in addition to your normal waterproof? I have a Pertex jacket which I think would do the trick.

Yes definitely. my pertex is at most half the weight of my Kamilika and packs down very small. but if the race rules say waterproof I will not be one of those who try to get away with pertex

any one heard a forcast yet?
