I'm planning to do Duddon for the first time this year - never been up in that neck of the Lakes before.
I'm planning to camp possibly Friday and Saturday - I believe you can pitch at the pub - is that correct? Do you need to book in early?

I want to do this too - just struggling a bit with the public transport logistics: getting there from Oxenholme train station on the Friday and back to it on the Sunday...
Also would be totally new territory for me - good test of the navving skills ...
PS: mudlugger, merrylegs, and others who did it for the first time last year - how was it navving round without having done a recce?
I started at the back of the pack, after a friend headbutted the wall leaving the start field, as i picked my way through the field, i never ran out of people to follow. It was a clear day, no probs with nav. Get a race map from Pete Bland, lots of route hints on it and only £3![]()
This thread's just reminded me, fancy doing this again this year, if the legs still work after the Fellsman.
Managed to book a caravan pitch at Skelwith Fold campsite after a frantic search.
I'll be there, if the legs don't work, i'll offer some abuse to you all![]()
