The feel and handling changes a lot, even the tyre makes a difference - don't get cheap tyres even if you have cheap wheels. Some wheels are specialised for TT or climbing whilst others are all rounders. Hard to explain the feel of a nice wheel & tyre combo but it certainly gives you confindance zooming down a fast and twisty descent.

Ah i see.......and what about though solid black wheens you seen on TT's and in the velodrome, what are they for?

For minimum drag in a TT. Shit in an evening 10 up the A6 with a cross wind though! Horses for courses.
Expect to pay around £1600 for one of those solid black things though!

May i ask....what makes a bike better to splash out on some snazzy wheels?

remember if your going to do some big descents , good tyres are a must

road pro 3s are my choice
and i can confirm that on sunday i topped 54mph with them

make sure you carry spare tubes, levers and a pump AL, + some surgeons gloves

Quick 20 miler on road bike taking in a cricket competition mini-merry was playing in, the weather stayed dry for them and his school won the comp

A good TT today,Lance is looking good for a possible top 10.A great ride seeing as he is not yet race fit !!
Just like to mention Christopher froome..anybody heard of him ? He is a Kenyan born rider with a GBR licence.He is 29th overall,just 14.05 down in GC.To put it into perspective Mark Cavendish is currently 145th (out of 186) and 2 hours down on GC.
