We will be crossing the Snake just SW of Shire hill, We are on a tight shedual Do you know of a place to top up our food close by?

Ian - if your crossing Shire Hill where I think you will be you will be more or less passing my front door. From Cock Hill trig you probably will be coming down the old quarry path which would bring you to my door. From there its a bit of road then up and around ( not over) Shire Hill and down crossing the A57 ( bottom of snake pass next to Royal Oak). From there I imagine you will be following the road to Moorfield House ( road is known locally as "Derbyshire Level") then down towards the fell path up towards Harry Hut trig point.

Of course you may have completely different route plans.

We are in the process of selling our house just now (We are moving to the USA) as I would have suggested you can use my garden for your food stash. We may still be in the house by then so you could use it - but I cant say for sure

    Hope this helps

cheers Calf, no i havent done it before. I've been led to believe that half is rolling hilly and the other half is steeper climbs. So we shall see tomorrow. And good luck to you on Sunday

And to get back to the thread title....

No training today. Still not feeling 100%, hopefully will be better tomorrow.

Another short mostly off road flattish run - only 3.5 miles but for the first time this year I've managed 3 days in a row and planning a decent hour or so tomorrow.

two entries in a row on this thread -whatever next?

65 mins mostly on Meanwood Trail race route - muddy in parts so RX Terrains came in handy -atlhough they've made the main path from Meanwood Park to the road crossing 'pushchair friendly' since I was last there!! By parking at southern end of route I got the only really decent fellrunners climb in in the last 10 mins of run.

I think you must be the only one actually doing any running! 3 miles around Sutton Park for me watching the Warwickshire road relays. Apparently I'm running the 12 stage next week...

    Coniston 14 (13.875)
Finished in 11th position which is what i anticipated. (well i thought 10th actually). Pace was 5:58.5, was hoping for faster but never having done it before perhaps this was as good as it was ever likely to get.
Beautiful sunny day in the Lakes, warm too, around 14 or 15 deg C.
Felt poorly since finishing though - bad guts and throat still slightly swolllen up. Nowt much on tomorrow though apart from driving (2hrsE/W) to Barrow for about 30mins work!!! Hope it's nice in the Lakes again - will go the scenic route.

Good luck once again to Wilmslow runnners tomorrow

Did a recce of the anniversary waltz today, breathtaking scenery, couldn't have picked a better day for it. Can't decide whether to enter the race or not, i'm going to have to make a decision soon

No problems all the way round to Cat Bell then followed the path to the right and headed towards the road, instead of bearing off left after the last rocky bit, think i just got carried away in the excitement of completing the route

Ran over to Winter Hill from Roddlesworth via Great Hill. Back via Belmont and round the reservoir.
2½ hours. Didn't feel bad after Fiensdale yesterday but a bit tired by the end.
