    Re: Todays Bike Ride

Had planned to go out with the club at 9am but one look at the amount of rain coming down put paid to that. Ended up going out at 5pm for 2.5 hours in glorious sunshine, shorts & short sleeve top through the very green and pleasant lanes of the Ribble Valley. What a contrast in the day's weather.

37miles after work at god knows what speed but i was shattered.
    Still a bit windy mind.
Lots of roadies out tonight and I was climbing fairly well
150miles since Sunday but a far cry from the days when i could ride and ride and ride.
As you get older the recovery is harder.

30 miles or so in the late afternoon sunshine, gorgeous, apart from the wind, 15 out v e r y s l o w l y and then flew back! Trying out a new Fizik saddle, very comfy, could be the 100mile one

NOoooooooooooooooooooooo! Not the arione??? My good god, that thing has given me some pain! Thankfully I put the cheapo winter bike saddle on for sundays 110 miles else I'd still not be able to sit down today!! (cheap one just doesn't match the bike though - god damn)

NOooooooooooooooooooooooo, the Alianti, slightly different shape, profile and wider, seems to suit my rear rather better than some of the Selle Italias that I have tried. Reckon Italians must have skinny a**ses!
Like you my cheapo saddle on the trainer is fab, they don't make it any more, so this Fizik job may be the closest match.

    Re: Todays Bike Ride

    True Story:
Years ago me and my mate entered a Dewsbury to Bridlington bike ride, my mate hadn't been cycling long and didn't have the right kit cos he was a tight sod. He turns up in a pair of jagged cut-off Ron Hill tracksters looking like a mini-Hulk.
I expressed my concern for his nether regions to which he replied "I'll be reet"
We sets off in rain that would last all day, after 40 miles we came to some traffic lights and he starts rummaging around in his Ron's.
"Starting to chaff a bit mate?" i asks.
"Nah" he says "Just need to reposistion this" he replies
Pulling out a press on towel with wings he had nicked off his Mrs.
