Duddon Fell Race

Did the Fellsman in 315's, only two 10 mile run's in em before, no blisters, comfy as owt, not as much grip as a 'proper' fell shoe but they'll do the job

yep, they felt comfy in the shop, and I'm not going to be flying down those descents anyway, so don't mind the sole being a bit lightweight

plus - watching the cash - it's a shoe that'll cover a few sorts of race / terrain (as I do mainly trail running down here)

haven't got any proper fell shoes either, but comfort's got to be main thing for these long ones hasn't it

I was looking to get mizuno wave harriers, but the pair I got through the post didn't fit, and too late to re-order

Reckon I'm going to get a pair of Roclite 315s instead, should do the trick ...

PS: if anyone can give us a lift to Ulverston or Lancaster on the Sunday morning, I'd be v grateful of it.

If i get a fresh gearbox back in the van (hopefully before Thursday) you will still have a lift. there will be alot going back that way you are bound to get a lift

I did Duddon 2 years ago in brand new pair of Inov8s no problem but given how some people don't like the heel tabs I guess unless you have worn them before it would be foolish

Anyone know the cutoffs for Duddon? I'm very slow over lakeland terrain and was cut off at the pass at Borrowdale last year. With that in mind, if times are tight anywhere on the 'long' Duddon I might think about doing the short course instead. If on the other hand cutoffs are generous I'd love to have a crack at the full version and trudge/wheeze my way round.
