I've a spare pair of SPD's if you want to borrow them Ady, but I don't reckon the shoes will fit?! Although I DO have a pair of cx/mtb shoes going!

Ive tried grabbing hold of the traffic lights or barriers if there are any and that seems to useful.

I also have a theory, bikes are faster at acceleration 0-15mph than cars maybe? Ive got away faster than every car so far anyway.
Ady is correct , practice your stands but i kinda like just putting a finger on the back of a car to hold me till the lights change.
Its not dangerous and Ive never had anyone moan.
Im not a fan of trackstands personally as ive had abuse off motorists who think yoru being flash.
gonna do 40miles tonight as the weather looks nice

Ady, any ideas where you could get a bianchi 53cm frame, coloured like the one pantani used to have.
    celeste green with yellow

    Enjoy your 40 daz.

I was going to go out for a ride today but i think my legs need a tad longer to recover since they're a tad knackered from my two races.
Knees are bad today so dont want to risk punishing them, off swimming now so might pop a short 12 miler tonight before it goes dark.

Most of the CX bike is borrowed so a borrowed pair of SPD's would match nicely!! Are they double sided? My shoe size is a wide fitting 8.............

Went to bed at 7, up at 11:30 and out for a brisk 30 miles to Hurst Green and back off to work now. Get a day off Thursday which will be my next ride. Weather still holding out and quite pleasant for riding.

Well, I did that ride... a good 50 miles of hills, hills and more hills then some 5 miles of cool down, just pottering...

Legs are pleasantly achey again. Was a few minutes slower than I had hoped though However, I was riding the circuit on tired legs this time and it was VERY windy and wet, so I had to slow down on the descents cornering

    Re: Todays Bike Ride

I think my training probably belongs down here. A few miles out on the bike in the last week or so and my running pace has increased dramatically. Maybe I should give up running as training and just cycle for training and then race??

Maybe I should buy a new bike if I'm going to take cycling seriously??

    Re: Todays Bike Ride

You don't need a new bike Dom, you have got perfectly good bikes as it is!

Also, if you keep cycling and don't run, you get as slow as me!!!!

I used to run A LOT faster, before I took to cycling and no running...
