Harriet Harmen was in the commons last night, declaring NEW equality laws, and she said that under them the BNP couldn't stop black people from joining them.
This is one of the things I mentioned before about the government discriminating for and against certain groups. People should have the legal right to hold racist views. When the government starts making laws to prevent people holding certain convictions, it isn't long before the last remnents of freedom vanish.
The way things are going, we will see a dictatorship in this country. A dictatorship brought about by those who pretend to love freedom, and corrupt it's true meaning.
At the moment you can have any politician you want as long as they're grey. We asked for them, and we're getting exactly what we deserve, because we don't consider ourselves worthy enough to be free.
The BNP got two MEPs elected not due to a huge surge in BNP support, but because other voters stayed away.
It's not just people such as RH who shoulder the responsibility, it's people who didn't vote for non-racist parties. This time, I was one of those people.
If electing BNP MEPs increases voter turnout next time, then that's one good thing to come out of the BNP.
And another thing: why can't people register their annoyance at mainstream politics by voting for comedy parties like they used to. Are the monster raving loony party still in existence? I remember great policies, such as importing the EU butter mountain to help our ski team, and releasing all innocent prisoners to prevent overcrowding. We could now be having a discussion about the pros and cons of holding a press conference in a public fountain.

Can I ask perhaps a stupid question:
is racism illegal ?

Don't think so: you can dislike whoever you want regardless of the basis of that hatred (e.g. race, colour). This is where the existence of parties like the BNP are protected by the right to free speech.
But to act on those beliefs to discriminate, abuse - physically/verbally - harass, incite violence...that's when the law gets involved. And also where it gets a bit murky to say the least for the BNP.
