Seems quite a lot of climb I did not think Barnoldswick was that hilly. Shows what I know.

I've not done it before Jamie but I'm reliably informed when you get to the top you descend a bit before re-climbing

Tempted but there is also a mountain bike orienteering event which is V local so also tempted to do that then do Abbey Fell race the next evening?? But also tempted to do both races

In fact about half way along you descend down a road, then follow a path back up parallel to the road (and since you come back this way you do it twice). Theres a loop from the summit as well, which drops you a few hundred feet, then you climb back up to near the summit, and go back the way you came.

There's also a bit o'road on't way out and in't middle and on't way back, but apart from that it's a defo for fell shoes, especially if it's gonna rain like it did last year.

That depends on where you live
