    Re: Midsummer Madness

My mate Grahame (from Mercia) is going to be up again this year, after a long lay-off with injury.
Not sure about Dawsy from Telford - he normally does the Friday and Sunday with the York Bike Show in between, and the events do coincide again.

It's my year to be on the helping/marshalling side, so watch out for some high-quality sweeping on Friday and give me a cheery wave on Tom Tittiman (twice) on Sunday.

However, as its official historian, I felt obliged to commit myself to running the Bogs race, despite Bill's wild-eyed cackling ("You're all doomed I tell ye!").

All three races have a pub nearby (esp Sat and Sun that start from the pub) and there's good beer and lots of prizes.
    Cheers, CH.
No Friday night race for me, lad's cricket comes first, he's doing well and don't want him to miss it, will be there for the brutal bogs, lads doing the U10's, and be there on sunday, no James Logue eh, if everyone that's slower than James but faster than me, don't turn up, i might win a race

    Can't do Saturday now
Got to look after Mini-Merry as Miss Merry is doing Gymnastics, can be dropped off early by the Mrs. as Mini is still doing the Junior Bogs.
Now then Clash City Rocker, need any help marshalling at the Juniors?
    I'll be there anyway

No Bill, my excuse is a real one
Happy to do a bit of Marshalling though and listen to the horror stories after the senior bogs

No not at the moment as I have scared up enough support from other interested parents to relieve the pressure on CVFR members, I will be up at Ambleside for junior race (although I have no chance of winning) but its always good to know there are possible backups should anyone not turn up. Andy will be in charge on the Sat so ask him when you get there.
    Cheers

Many thanks to Bill and the team for putting on the usual fantastic race.
Apologies to all the helpers/marshalls if I didn't thank you individually, think this was the shortest fell race I've ever done, and I really enjoyed it but was breathing out of my ar5e for most of the race!
Good to see all the usual suspects.
By the way, your local needs you!

    Re: Midsummer Madness

Thanks to Andy of CVFR for organising the Junior bogs races, Mini-Merry got a third place and a medal, although i never saw him run and i was marshalling
Seems some nippers went the wrong way, good do anyway, nice to meet AJF and see all the seniors finishing (some of them arse over bollocks).
Not Crowhill's kind of race but still managed second, well done mate.
Hopefully i'll get a pass out tomorrow to run the Tom Tittiman and have more chips and Guinness after
    Well done all.

I wanted to do the Wicken Hill Whizz on Friday but was full of cold during the week. Couple of extra days to recover and so I'm looking forward to the Tom Tittiman tomorrow.

Great race! Toughest B class race I have ever done! So much was just tussocks, and bogs and paths were few and far between.

Cheers for a great race! Forgotten how much it is just a big bog up on the moors round there. Like a giant heathery wet sponge.

Also, good to put a name to a face merrylegs. I spotted your hair do and knew it was you

Oh and tom tittiman is part of our club fell champs. Be interesting to see if any of our club actually turn up. Sorry I can't make it. 3 races in 4 days and I am on thin ice with the wife.
