You mean 'hair don't'.
A fantastic weekend. BillJ could give masterclasses in race organisation: absolutely brilliant. The results were published, all category winners sorted, year-on-year improver stats worked out, all within minutes. In fact, the prizegiving for today's race and the series as a whole began only nineteen minutes after the last finisher crossed the line. (Is that a pb?!)
As a marshal on Friday and Sunday, I was close at hand to appreciate the amazing effort put in by Bill and all his family. The children were stars too, circulating the printed results and keeping the prizes moving. (Glad you finally got shot of the corkscrew, kids...!)
Bill even flagged the Tittiman course himself this morning, after a hard night's ceilidhing.
It was fitting that Anne J won the women's race.
Congratulations to James Logue and Chris for their performances today - a new record for James - and to series winner Jason Williams of Leicester Owls, who had some storming runs, not least at Wicken Hill on Friday. Nice to see a host of old friends, including Invisible from Springfield and the Telford/Shropshire contingent.
I understand now why Bill was chuckling about the Bogs route - especially checkpoint 2. Enjoyed it though, despite several poor choices which probably cost me (and the people ill-advised enough to be following me) about 10 minutes. I've made a mental note to arrive early enough next year to have a proper look at the map and mark it up in advance.
