Yup, likewise have to survive in 2-3hr windows of opportunity, some of which don't actually exist according to Mrs T
Just under 2hrs of mayhem this afternoon, took the monster Col du Roc Blanche from Ponty(not as steep as death by golf course but much, much longer......), then Col du Llanwonno before canning it back. Great ride, though spoilt by the lack of ice creams

It's the highest point of the climb the road goes over (not the top of the mountain)

Yes but not like the top of your street - it has to be over a mountain - more commonly used in Europe where they have proper mountains.

Well I managed the 19 mile home from work but I'm knackered now.
Bloody warm in that sun for an 80 minutes.

Are you commuting by bike every day Stagger? Great way to improve cycle fitness and fits into the daily schedule without seeming to the other half that you are simply buggering off out on the bike again!

Not restrained by significant others I still only managed a meagre 53 minutes, although I did pack a mighty 16.25 miles into that, so the pace was fairly reasonable. Now I just need to maintain the pace, increase the distance, and add some hills in!

I am starting with twice a week to work with shorter rides on other days.
Would like to have 8 to 10 hours in the saddle per week to try keep up the CV fitness while not running.
