    Head NE and down Birks gill as stated above it's easy. contour round to the path. also a good place to pick up good water.

    And to get to Steel Fell carry on contouring.

    And then down to Dunmail Raise, up to Seat Sandal and then pop up to Fairfield.....is that bit equally easy....looks fairly simple on the map.



    Oh and dont worry, im not reccing for a BG attempt....just planning a "bus to the lakes Run".

    getting between High Raise and Steel Fell is not much problem, but if the clag is down actually finding Calf Crag can be a slight challenge (eh Karl?)

    eeh I forgot that i'd started this thread, some 6 years ago. I was pretty naive back then but I sure enjoyed "learning the sections" and have lost none of my BGR appetite. Happy days.
