Deejay were you that bloke in a bobble hat and macintosh I passed running up Ben Nevis the other day with mountain gear consisting of an umbrella and carrier bag? . It was raining, windy and pretty bleak above 700 metres and needless to say when I passed him again as I was going down the umbrella had imploded!

I think a fell runner carrying an umbrella will add a touch of sophistication to the event

Deejay is a very sophisticated member of society.

You spotted one of my assistants on one an umbrella trial run. I think all teething troubles have now been overcome

Oh and when you say when you "passed him again" does this mean that at some point he passed you?

True, but please don't tell them which society.

I must say though, I am rather looking forward to my dinner in the Royal Oak after the race

He could have easily done... like Mary Poppins . I over took him going up and then met him again head on as I was going down again.

I think you should lead the charge out of Rosthwaite Deejay, shouting tally ho or something, with your umbrella held above your head like a sword. You're clearly officer material; you'll look like you're going over the top armed with a swagger stick!
