Highlight of the day was being offered a peice of mars bars and a drink from Jos Naylor at Styhead, "Freshen your mouth with this lad" he said. Had to jog up Great Gable till i was out of view of the great man (then cough and wheeze behind a rock).

I saw your ridiculous spurt up the first 50 metres of Great Gable Steve. Just for the record, rather than being overwhelmed your exemplorary style and supreme fitness and perhaps pencilling you down as one to watch for the future, Joss carried on looking at the stunning view towards Scafell Pike and helping other wounded soldiers like me.

Don't know any thing about the blood but easy to understand. just how does any one run on that wet rock. Next year I will wear roller skates as they must be an improvement.

Me and Stolly followed a trail of claret off Scafell Pike, thanks to the donor for showing the way
Wore mudclaw 330's for the recce and slipped and minced a lot, 270's for the race the sticky rubber made all the difference, not just a gimmick, only fell once coming down to Honister and that was me own fault for sightseeing

Thought it was quite amusing at the prize-giving when Scoffer held up an Inov-8 mist-lite jacket that had been dropped somewhere during the race. He then pointed out that it wasn't a proper waterproof, so if anyone wanted to claim it they would be disqualified! Some smart alec suggested it was Jebbie's!

By the way, lovely little speech from Rob.

Wore battered Montrails for the recce... not grippy enough on mud... went to Mudclaws 330s for the race... still slipped on the mud ('cos I'm a clumsy oaf), but nearly broke my neck on wet rocks... reverted to mincing mode for fear of my life... Timed out...?

...surprised I didn't need my headtorch!

Not making excuses really.. too fond of beer and the need to sort the shoes plays only a small part... though I did find myself gracefully immersed in mud on numerous occasions... Mudclaw 270s you say...?

Sorry Simon, forgot, Mr. Crumblydown invited me over to his campsite on friday night and i had 4 pints of Guinness (thought it was 3, but i'm assured it was 4) and like GeoffB it affected my memory

Hopes were up when a bag was left at the prizegiving. BUT NOT MINE!

Mine is a Clayton Ladys car. Thought to be Paul Thompson's Mum. Any Clayton runners out there can help?

Mystery solved. It was my car in which Gary left his bum bag, not Katy's, but thanks to modern communication (several carrier pigeons dropping messages all over Cumbria) the item is now on its way home.
