I am a regular Singlespeeder on the mtb and I think it'd be hard work on the 3 Peaks. I am quite glad I've got gears on my 'crosser!

Yep. Jon's a mate of mine (I wrote up his silliness for 63xc after). I was more interested in any, you know, normal people who'd done it. I'm asking in the wrong place aren't I?

I think I quite like the thought of gears, but am mostly too tight to pay for them.
