    Re: three peaks

This is will be my first attempt at 3 Peaks, was talking to the organisers in the pub the night before last years race and fancied having a go at it after I'd downed several pints, and one year later I'm actually gonna do it, or at least try to. Been training quite hard for my standard but I'm from Hull where it's as flat as a fart so training has been awkward. Run for Fenner Flyers, a small running club in Hull which mainly does road racing but fancied something different. Last Fell race was Winter Hill which I found really tough, been trying to do plenty of long runs since then but struggling to get much hill work done. I know I'm gonna struggle.

Hi, i fancy having a trot around the course in the next couple of months and just wanted to check one part of the route. It concerns just the small section coming off PYG, around Sell Gill Holes to the Peninne Way.

Is it a right of way, is there a path?

    thanks in advance

This is quite a good fell race for road runners. The terrain is nothing like as tough as Winter Hill so don't worry as long as you can stay on your feet for the distance.

I seem to remember a path. Have you seen Pike's excellent map?

There are some much more knowledgeable people on here who should know and who could help one of the first people to sign up to the very first version of this forum back in September 2004.

...and how interesting/sad that you remember me posting from the 'old days', although i did post more as 'drallop' then too. i haven't really done much fell running for a while now (kept buggering up my ankle ligaments) but i'm planning on doing a 45mile run along the Ridgeway in June and need to get some quality miles in my legs, so where better than the PPP's!
