Does anyone know if there were any prizes?!

Unfortunately, I had to dash off after the finish...

How about the knowledge that you beat everyone else?

Free entry to next year's race?

A new hairstyle provide by the 60mph+ winds?

A free rescue the next time you get lost or injured?

Seriously though, well done for winning, wish I could have kept up with you.

There were 2 casualties in the car park before the event, a lady fell over and damaged her wrist that was operated on at Huddersfield, one of the mini bus drivers went over on his ankle and also ended up at Huddersfield Infirmary.
A PFR runner went down on Mickleden edge, fortunately not a break but painful and swollen.
A lady, nothing to do with GnB it, fell somewhere over Back Tor way, and some of the team went over to assist Edale team, an air ambulance from Blackpool area over to help with the injured lady was forced to land and stay put until the wind bated.
All in all and eventful day.

Not had all invoices in yet but looks like around £2400 (ish).
Thanks to all that attended, competitors and marshals alike, that made the day.

Re: Grin 'n' Bear it 2009

First time I've managed to get on the forum since last week - the Saturday wind's taken down our phone lines!

Well, that was the windiest I've run in a while. Ta to all MR for the organisation and for braving the elements. And a special thanks for Karen who gave me a super massage when I got back (don't tell my missus)...

Nice run Steve, congrats on first round the long route. Great to see Datt, Derby Tup, GrahamB, IDP, Plumbum et al. and to meet Mark (from NE somewhere?)

MR - I urge you to keep this route for next year!
