    Ice on the car at 8.00am, and light groundfrost in the garden - probably colder if I had got up earlier .

    It was very nippy here this morning too, but no frost... Was thinking about your courgettes though. I withdraw my statement about you being over protective!

    As long as you make sure they don't get frostbite

    BW doesn't like rotting courgettes

    Phew, that is a relief! I had a sleepless night worrying about them, as it was so cold.... temperatures were hovering around freezing!

    Can't let the Boy Wonder go hungry!

    Re: todays courgettes

    Today sees an end to the great 2009 courgette marathon. Jack Frost has done his dirty deed, despite their little blankets, and all are now dead, deceased, no more . I have picked the very last 13 immature specimens, and added to the totals.

    At this very moment the Missus is heaving them out of the ground and most unceremoniously chucking their withered remains onto the compost heap.

    So the final totals are as follows:

    JULY = 85
    AUGUST = 147
    SEPTEMBER = 108
    OCTOBER = 41

    GRAND TOTAL FOR 2009 = 381.
    TOTAL FOR 2008 = 216.
